A few weeks ago I attended The Spring Teacher Retreat in French Lick, Indiana with about 500 of my closest teacher friends. The event was nothing short of amazing and left me feeling ready to conquer the world (or at least the last three months of school). However, the professional development and socializing with other educators wasn’t the only thing that helped me recharge! Mr. Pennington and I found the coolest little Indiana cabin on Airbnb a few days before we headed to French Lick!
This Indiana cabin was heaven from the second we pulled up
Just off the beaten path in Bedford, Indiana (about thirty minutes from Bloomington) is River Rock Cabin. As soon as we started down the long gravel driveway, through the trees and blooming daffodils, we knew this place was going to be a little slice of rustic heaven!
Our Airbnb host Mary (and her sweet granddaughter Stella) were waiting at the cabin when we arrived. She gave us a quick tour (with instructions on how to use the huge, cozy fireplace!) and some pointers about the area, and made it known that she and her husband Jerry were available should we need anything at all. They graciously had collected various maps and brochures covering the many things to do in the area as well.
Rustic charm and running water are a good combo!
I’m a girl who loves her modern commodities (you know, like running water?), but I adore all things rustic! This little Indiana cabin was just filled with so many adorable rustic touches. Mary’s little pops of seasonally appropriate decor did not go unnoticed, and were truly adorable! She even has a little gift shop area full of beautiful items she’s crafted by hand!
The Great Outdoors
Regardless of where you stand, the views from our favorite little Indiana cabin are spectacular! From the sloping backyard view of White River to the wooded front yard full of blooms; there’s plenty to see and explore! The cabin’s deck offers a wonderful place to sit, relax and beat your spouse in enjoy a game (or seven) of Scrabble! And did I mention there’s a tree swing? I don’t care if you’re six or thirty-six–everyone loves a good tree swing!
Pictures Don’t Do This Cabin Justice
We really weren’t expecting this little Indiana cabin to be so magical! That’s why all I have to share are some rough looking iPhone images. But, you know, that’s ok. If I gave away all the tiny, perfect details of River Rock Cabin in this post, you’d never get to experience the awe upon arrival like we did!
Planning a trip to Indiana?
If you’re planning a trip to Indiana any time soon, definitely check this place out! I’m really not being compensated in any way to share this review–I just love the cabin THAT much! (In fact, we’re already headed back next week!) You can find the Airbnb listing by clicking here! AND, if you use my referral link, we’ll both save some cash on our next stay! #yourewelcome
